NEW!
PALE ANGELSPrimal Play from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Primal Play is the first album from grungey transatlantic punks Pale Angels. With inspirations ranging from the Ramones to the sounds of 90s Seattle, Primal Play is an album that uses simplicity as a jumping point to get weird. It's a little Husker Du in parts, a sorta pop vibe with heaps of extra fuzz, and it took life this year between three friends separated by an ocean. The members are Mike Santostefano from New Jersey, Mikey Erg from Queens, NY, and Jamie Morrison from Swansea, Wales, recorded at Vacation Island Studios in Brooklyn, NY with Ben Greenberg of noisy Brooklyn band The Men.

1994!Most Deaf from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Lancaster PA’s 1994! are a heavy duo de force. The songs on "Most Deaf" just don’t let up. A plethora of attitude with belted out hoarse vocals, soaring riffs, and grooving tempos make it reminiscent of a lot of the great emocore bands of the 90's. (Yeah "emocore," because that's what kids called it back then, before it became a generic, over produced, over hyped, fashionable, and haircut driven bastardization that everyone knows today.) Time to stop ranting, trust us this is totally worth checking out! *For fans of bands like Portraits of Past and I Hate Myself.

ABOVE THEMAre We A Danger To Ourselves from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

The second album by UK's ABOVE THEM, "Are We A Danger To Ourselves?" succeeds completely at its goal to draw you in and quickly makes it way into heavy rotation on your turntable with its guitar hooks with and melodic vocals. From the exhilarating and propulsive "Temper like a Hand Grenade" which sees the band at their driving, energetic best, to the expansive final statement of "Are we a danger...?", ABOVE THEM enable the listener to feel their music in ways that are immediate and pleasurable but also lasting and haunting. Unlike so much music today, it rewards you, giving you the experience of a fulfilled and yet still yearning, lively potential, one that will be further realized when the songs are performed live. RIYL: THE LOVED ONES, THE HOLD STEADY, HOT WATER MUSIC

ANCHOR ARMS / MADISON BLOODBATH from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Two songs from each band!

ARMS ALOFTSawdust City from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

ARMS ALOFT formed in 2007 in their hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; a logging town-turned-interstate exit between Minneapolis and Chicago. They were quick to self-record and self-release a 5 song demo. In 2008, they released their first proper EP, COMFORT AT ANY COST on Gilead Media to widely positive reviews. MRR said, "ARMS ALOFT plays some nearly perfectly executed catchy punk" and "[ARMS ALOFT] will soon be a band to whom others will be compared as an influence." Razorcake said, "There's a glut of groups doing this type of stuff. And yet I can think of less than a half a dozen bands who are doing it as well." ARMS ALOFT spent a large chunk of 2011 and 2012 on the road. Touring both at home and in Europe. They also holed up in a small studio in Minneapolis to record their debut album, SAWDUST CITY. SAWDUST CITY finds ARMS ALOFT bringing more of the brand of intelligent punk they debuted on COMFORT, but expanding on it. The influence of DILLINGER FOUR and THE CLASH is still there, but perhaps more obviously filtered through the range of everything from SEBADOH to Japanese rock group THE PILLOWS or a KURT VONNEGUT book-on-tape that you're likely to hear rattling from the two working speakers in the shitty red van they call home. The album is both musically and lyrically dense, but never pretends to be more than the punk rock record it is proud to be.

ARMS ALOFT / THE MANIX from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Wisconsin's ARMS ALOFT bring a double dose of loud gruff anthemic punk in the vein of Dillinger Four. It's melodic, driving and the vocals are belted out with serious intensity. DOUBLEDRANOPERCOCETNOICE could be the theme song to your life. THE MANIX provide an excellent flip side to this split by drawing on similar influences with equally successful yet somehow different results. They have a few more whoas in their songs, but fans of one side should be stoked on the other. Both of these bands play the type of good, tight shit we've come to expect from America's midwest punk scene. Should we mention that Corey from THE MANIX also plays in BANNER PILOT?

New EP; 4 tracks of catchy raw pop punk!

BANGERSSmall Pleasures from Kiss Of Death/Specialist Subject
Available in our NEW STORE!

Cornwall, England's BANGERS new album "Simple Pleasures" packs intelligent lyrics and tight musicianship into a mid-tempo punk rock melee. The record is littered with subtle hooks, head- bobbing breakdowns, and endearingly gruff vocals. Fuse those components with an amazingly warm sound it makes this full length incredibly authentic sounding. It's hard to put a finger on what one thing that makes you want to listen to "Small Pleasures" on repeat but I guess that is what makes it so darn perfect. Great music for drinking to, or driving to, just try not to do them both at the same time.

BANNER PILOTPass the Poison from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

7 songs on a one-sided record! Banner Pilot is a punk band from sunny Minneapolis, MN. What do they sound like? Well, imagine if Jawbreaker, Lawrence Arms and Alkaline Trio got in a knife fight and Jawbreaker won - but just barely. That's what they say they sound like. Does that even make sense? Probably not, but this is the first EP by Banner Pilot that was released only on CD originally and is finally seeing the light of day on this one-sided slab of wax.

BOMB THE MUSIC INDUSTRY! / LAURA STEVENSON & THE CANS from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

When BOMB THE MUSIC INDUSTRY! started doing tours, the plan was always to tour with our friends and put out split 7"s covering each others' songs for those tours. Not that it really worked out, but when they decided to tour with their friends' bands and play cheaper all ages shows again, LAURA STEVENSON & THE CANS was the obvious choice. This seven inch features one original by each band and one cover of each other’s songs. Following in this theme, the bands designed the cover artwork for each other, making this a perfect summer release to accompany the tour. The LAURA side focuses on sweet melodies and smooth vocals, while the BOMB side aurally represents the reason my buddy Murray says he still likes going to punk rock shows! On various kinds of colored vinyl!

CAVES / SUNDIALS from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

CAVES: "This Bristol, UK punk-pop trio are often compared to bands such as Discount and Lemuria and its no surprise why. They play a brand of punk that is infused with pop, lacks overly hard edges (not a criticism) and all are/were fronted by a female. In the case of Caves, the female is Louise Hanman, who also plays guitar, backed up by a particularly tight rhythm section of Dave Brent on drums and Jonathan Minto on bass." - Punknews.org SUNDIALS: "If you enjoy the sunny, jangly, '90s alt-rock-influenced punk sounds of fellow upstarts Failures' Union, this should be directly up your alley. A bounty of melody and exuberantly sung vocals are wielded by Sundials here at every turn." - Punknews.org

CHILLERTONHollow Lane from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Listening to “Hollow Lane” is reminiscent of an energetic basement show. Sing-along vocals, tight rhythms, and inspirational lyrics melt together to deliver well-crafted songs to your speakers. Hailing from the UK, this three-piece is like a fresh young version of LEATHERFACE and it takes listeners back to a time when bands like the HOT WATER MUSIC and BRAID were kings of the scene.

CLOSET FAIRIES / PARTY GARBAGE from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Boston's CLOSET FAIRIES feature Spent and some of the dudes from WITCHES WITH DICKS. The other side is the final release from Austin, Texas's PARTY GARBAGE, with Ben Snakepit rocking the drums.   DIRTY TACTICSThe Divine Middle from Kiss Of Death/Say-10
Available in our NEW STORE!

Philadelphia's Dirty Tactics bring 5 tracks (4 on the vinyl) melodic mid tempo punk rock to the table on the Divine Middle EP. Sometimes sad sounding, sometimes upbeat, sometimes angry, this is a complete record that doesn't stick to any generic or worn formulas. Lyrically, each song unfolds like a short story. Musically, the band has honed their chops and really kept a focus on dynamics in their song-writing. There are hints of Against Me!, hints of Americana at times, but these boys can't be pegged down to any one genre or "sound alike" band. This EP was recorded by The Pete from the Bouncing Souls.

DOWN IN THE DUMPSDumps Luck from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Dumps Luck sounds like a gravelly version of what once was pop punk like if someone took a CD of a pop punk band and then backed over it with a pick up truck. They have a catchiness buried under a thick coating of grit, grim, and sounds from the gutter. Under the sludge there's an enthusiasm to the whole CD that is infectious, and also a slight sarcasm that was once a standard for bands of this genre. "I hate myself but I don't want to die," declares a self-loathing yet funny at the same time. Dumps have got something here drawing inspiration from all things good from Jeff Ott, especially Chrimpshrine and Fifteen.

DRY COUNTYThe Dry County from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

This young, coed Tampa trio has built up a rabidly supportive following over the last year through regular shows that flawlessly balances artiness and grit. To call them indie-rock might be misleading, but it's virtually impossible to peg the group any more specifically ? shades of everything from The Smiths and H?sker D? to Smoking Popes-esque pop-punk, and even Ted Leo-like execution provide grist for The Dry County?s cohesive, unique and compelling sound. The threesome?s songs are both familiar yet fresh, and the group?s obvious commitment to approaching it from an original and personal perspective delivers an amazing record. On as side note they were voted Creative Loafing?s ?Best Of The Bay 2006? Best New Band.

FAKE BOYSNice Knowing You from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Lowell, Massachusetts is considered the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution in the United States, so it seems fitting that the Fake Boys have both a working class sound and attitude. Cutting their teeth playing in hardcore bands, their musical chops are apparent. However, the band takes influences from a wide array of sources. They are just as likely to give a nod to Poison Idea and Husker Du as they are to Nirvana and Superdrag. This concoction creates something that is both fresh and new. The songs can be melodic and accessible, but just underneath the surface is a thoughtful and layered approach to the punk/rock genre. Since their inception in 2007, the trio has been bringing their brand of loud, warm, fuzzed-out music across the entire United States and throughout Europe on a regular basis. They've released 2 LPs and numerous splits in their short 4 year career, and The Fake Boys show little inclination to slow down their pace. Their newest EP on Kiss of Death Records is filled with interesting melodies and killer riffage. It's lucky for music lovers everywhere that when asked about their future plans, Jim Domenici simply replied, "To keep on writing, recording and touring until we die."

FELLOW PROJECT / GO SELL DRUGS from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Fellow Project are back with a couple of of new tracks of their dynamic and catchy brand of poppy post punk. The opening track "Eggshells" is a driving yet off kilter head-banging tune that is heavy, catchy and dynamic. "Backstretch" is a more straightforward yet sad sounding mid-tempo jaunt that is perfect for a good sing-along. Go Sell Drugs bring a tougher, bar chord heavy approach to the first song on their side of the split. However, they're not short on dynamics. The second track "Shitstorm" features giant gang vocals on the chorus, a dual vocal approach to the bridge and some sweet soaring octaves - you'll be pumping your fist to this track in no time.

FELLOW PROJECT / JONESIN' from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Fellow Project: Band Members of the band are into music, horseracing, snakes, knitting, the buried life, etc.. They also play in the following bands that you may want to know, Bridge and Tunnel, On the Might of Princes, Yes Sensei, God's Gift to women, and Church of the Rowdy. Musically, Fellow Project drops some bad-ass Fugazi influenced hits on your ass. - Glenn Jonesin': From the ashes of Down In The Dumps. Sounds like Dukes Of Hillsborough by way of Gunmoll: burlaped voice, like someone's throat is a bedroll of knives, dirt, and glass shards. Florida-ation facial grown rock by way of NYC that's working on, and beginning to succeed, in sounding epic. Not bad at all. – Todd Taylor

FELLOW PROJECT / THOUSANDAIRES from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Somewhere between angular post-punk and straight up punk rock lays Fellow Project. Featuring members of Bridge and Tunnel, the band’s songs feature jangly riffs, staggered tempos, monumental buildups and good old upbeat sing-alongs with male and female dueling vocals. They sound novel and familiar all at the same time. Thousandaires approach the same idea with a slightly more upbeat and straightforward take. The vocals call to mind early Hot Water Music, but the song writing is less traditional and more punk at the same time. Noodling guitars scale the fretboards, but not in a crummy tech metal way. The songs sound like they are written with a nod to the mid-nineties era bands but this is still punk.

GET BENT / JEAN CLAUDE JAM BAND from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

GET BENT is members of POTBOILER and DOWN IN THE DUMPS. It perks up the ears form the first listen, with a nod to that mid- 90's sound. On this record is the best JEAN CLAUDE JAM BAND song to date (this is Barker Gee of RINGERS earlier band). I think JCJB called it a day with this amazing twangy southern fried punk, but who knows with Barker... maybe they will resurface again? The only thing one could wish for on this 7" is more music! (On assorted colored vinyl!)

  GUILTMAKERDilemmas from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

You may be surprised that Dilemmas was not released on Lovitt or Jade Tree. It has the street cred of former band members like REVERSAL OF MAN and COMBAT WOUNDED VETERAN though you may not know it listening to this record. The sound is more post hardcore and ambient in the vein of ENGINE DOWN and QUICKSAND, some even say in the vein of “The Moon is Down” era FURTHER SEEMS FOREVER. Dilemmas is destined to be the most under-appreciated record on Kiss Of Death Records this year. A must have for all true music lovers.

GUILTMAKERDriven By Arms from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Guiltmaker is a fantastic post-hardcore indie rock band featuring members from such hardcore acts as Early Grace, Reversal of Man, and Combat Wounded Veteran. Guiltmaker's surprise is that their sound could not be more different from those names than it actually is. Melodic, sometimes melancholic but always sympathic...

HOMEWRECKERS, THEDaydreaming About Assholes from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

At first listen, THE HOMEWRECKERS sound like a more pissed-off version of THE DISTILLERS. This Brooklyn band’s EP is in your face and totally confrontational. “Assholes” is vengeful and unapologetically spiteful, yet refreshingly honest. Cristy Road fronts the band and pulls influence from Keith Morris-era BLACK FLAG.

IN THE RED / ANCHORSplit from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Mike Hale of Gunmoll fame is back again with more of his new outfit In the Red. This stuff goes to show that you can take the man out of Gainesville, but you can't take the Gainesville out of the man. Fans of the bands earlier work will be pleased to hear that Mike has lost none of his trademark growl on this stuff that falls somewhere between Leatherface and Hot Water Music. The Anchor brings along a track of gruff punk featuring bouncing bass-lines and hoarsely shouted vocals to their side of the split. I'd imagine that if Jersey's Best Dancers and Forever and Counting had a baby, it would look a lot like The Anchor.

The Knockdown started as a group of friends attending the State University at Oneonta who shared the twin passions of partying and punk rock. After releasing a demo and playing some shows, the Knockdown finally come out with their first full length record. The finer points of this record are the mixture of Northern Hardcore and Floridian Punk sounds. At times Hot Water Music-esque, with catchy guitar work over a Latterman sing-along punk sound.

An abrasive and hard hitting first release from these established Floridians(ex-REVERSAL OF MAN, ex-SCROG, ex-OMEGA MAN, and ex-BRUTALITY). This new sound is evident through this entire record and it is gripping.

MAYFLOWERSecond Best Sunsets from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

This record has been a long time in the making. After self- releasing their first demo and the "Lighter Fluid" 7" (Which featured 2 songs from this LP and a B-side), Mayflower has finally unveiled a sizable chunk of material for the people. This LP is a cynical punk rock jaunt in the vein of Off With Their Heads or Dillinger Four. After the introduction, the record kicks things in gear with the incredibly catchy "I Never..." With varying tempos like the slower "I Want to Live" and the memorably short and fast "Cellophane," Mayflower provide enough variation on this LP to keep it interesting at all times with their rough- around-the-edges brand of punk rock. This one is perfect for drunken singalongs, but also features smarter-than-average songwriting.

MONIKERSEat Your Young from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

This is the first EP from these Floridian gritty pop-punk hook-meisters. Often thought of as a southern JAWBREAKER or CRIMPSHRINE for all the right reasons. Ryan used to be in DISCOUNT and Monikers was started in a vain attempt to recapture his lost youth, but now he mostly just makes snide comments to everyone he meets for no good reason. "This release should cement the bands place as a pop-punk legends due to the bands gritty vocals and cynical lyrics. I mean anything can happen" -- a friend of the band...

MONIKERSWake Up from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Featuring a member of the long-defunct Florida legends Discount, people tend to say Monikers ?Wake Up? sounds like Jawbreaker, Leatherface, and a bunch of other 90's pop punk bands. What they don't know is that Monikers are probably the best band in the whole world right now. Monikers first full length record ?Wake Up? is the product of years of slacking off, years of avoiding practice, and years of playing shows far too drunk for their own good, if they even show up at all. Still, somehow Monikers managed to get the songs down and record an album through minimal effort ready to bring their brand of gruff pop punk to the masses. ?Wake Up? should be a welcome addition to the present state of music. It's pretty good too.

Gruff Pop Punk by the way of Minneapolis and Orlando. Banner Pilot plays mid-western punk, drawing as much from The Lawrence Arms as it does Dillinger Four and early Jawbreaker, and what results are great rough-edged pop-punk songs, featuring members from Rivethead. Monikers sound a bit more like cement mixer vocals over catchy guitar riffs that sound like nothing you've ever heard before. unless you've heard Jawbreaker, Leatherface, Stiff Little Fingers, or Crimpshrine.

  MOUTHBREATHERMouthbreather from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

1st PRESSING - 300+/- 7 INCHES (Clear Green) Mouthbreather was formed from the ashes of Richmond groups WOW, OWLS! and THE SETUP. Playing music that is similar to both and yet still their own, the quartet keeps Richmond's punk and hardcore roots alive on this 2 song seven inch recorded in Louisville, KY with Chris Owens (LORDS). As a precursor for an upcoming full length, these songs capture the band's creative and innovative music.

MOUTHBREATHERThank You For Your Patience from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Mouthbreather?s first full length record, captured by Chris Owens (LORDS), is a slice of punk played with a chip on its shoulder. Raw and stripped down, the songs are unrelenting attacks similar to members' past groups WOW, OWLS! and THE SETUP but still maintaining a new musical identity, keeping Richmond's punk and hardcore roots in mind. By no means is this album the safe and comforting punk that you would find in a local suburban mall, but it is a loose extension of the angst of bands like Black Flag with songs that give a sarcastic, and at times jaded, look at the scene and life.

NEW BRUISESChock Full Of Misery from Kiss Of Death/No Idea
Available in our NEW STORE!

Chock Full of Misery, the long-awaited and long-postponed new record from Tampa's New Bruises, is a masterclass in punk rock maturation. From time spent in the '90s punk trenches of the northeast to their eventual migration to the more hospitable climate of the Gulf Coast of Florida, the band would be considered elder statesmen if it weren't for the fact that they're staying up later than you folding records then up hours before your alarm drinking all the coffee in your house. It's been almost six years since the release of Transmit! Transmit!, New Bruises' debut, in 2006. That's a long time for any band, let alone one in a scene with the turnover of contemporary punk. But for New Bruises, it's been time well spent, from recording a series of their own split releases and singles to releasing albums by bands like VRGNS, No Friends, and Bomb the Music Industry! through vocalist and guitarist Bryon Lippincott's record label, Kiss of Death. The life expectancy of an idealistic DIY punk band isn't too great these days, but New Bruises are coming into the release of Chock Full of Misery with even more fire in their collective belly than when they started, and a fantastically diverse record to back it up. While still rooted in the anthemic pop-punk of their '90s roots, New Bruises have cracked their sound wide open on Chock Full of Misery, picking apart each song and putting it back together one piece at a time. The result is a record that hits harder while experimenting with greater dynamics and sonic left turns, keeping the full-steam-ahead feel of early Jawbreaker while infusing it with the nuance of Tim-era Replacements. It's sort of the band's Dear You, but without all the smooth vocals and kids slashing their tires. There's spacious slow-burners like Five Questions alongside catchy barn-storming jams like One for the Looper, a track-by-track lesson in keeping your sound eclectic while maintaining a darkly distinct tone throughout. They might make claims to being a part time band full of grown-ups with real jobs, but New Bruises spent almost two months on the road last year, and are looking to pile in the van again to spread the gospel of Chock Full of Misery. This won't be a naive and wet-behind-the-ears batch of fresh-faced punks showing up to play your house show and moving on to play bigger and better avenues inside of a year. It will be a band that's been all over North America and Europe, seen the dives and seen the basements, and come back for more. It will be a band that believes in something, not because they don't know any better, but because they've seen it all, and there's no place they'd rather be.

Their raging 80's hardcore tendencies are still fully intact and even more focused than on their previous effort. This 6 song EP (which rips by in right around 8 minutes) harkens back to 80's hardcore with an equal nod to each coast. Fans of Dag Nasty, Minor Threat and Bad Brains will be equally as pleased as those that lean more towards the western approach of the Adolescents, Black Flag and Descendents. This EP is pressed on one side of an LP at 45 RPM (for maximum sound quality) and features artwork by the bands own drummer (Richard "Horsebites" Minino of the Black Axe).

If this is a sign of things to come from O Pioneers, then people who haven't taken notice yet really need to jump on board. Pulling double duty here, Junior Battles contribute "Passing Out" as the song on the flip side of this 7". With varying tempos, catchy guitar lines and soaring dueling vocals, Junior Battles bring their own cool brand of pop punk with distinctive nods to the 90's emo scene.

O PIONEERS / THE ANCHOR from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

This is a re-release of the split 7” that was originally put out in 2008 on Triumph Of Life Records. Side A showcases O Pioneers in their original 2 piece lineup and the song starts out as a mid- tempo jaunt of punk rock energy before careening down the road to darker and more dissonant territory. This song features Eric Soloman at his most furious and accusatory as he shouts his frustration at people that won’t stand up for themselves. The Anchor brings a couple of tracks of gruff punk featuring bouncing bass-lines and hoarsely shouted vocals to their side of the split. I’d imagine that if Jersey’s Best Dancers and Forever and Counting had a baby, it would look a lot like these songs by The Anchor.

O PIONEERS!!!Neon Creeps from Kiss of Death/Asian Man
Available in our NEW STORE!

"It may sound cliché, but sometimes an album just speaks to you. In the case of Neon Creeps, O Pioneers talk about real life, about meeting real life head on and how absolutely and insanely overwhelming it is. Over a charging melodic backdrop, front man Eric shouts out his frustrations with money, old friends, the city and the various problems that everyone deals with daily. However, the band always pushes through all the bullshit to offer some small kind of hope. Not only are there plenty of “don’t let it get you down” and such offered in their songs, but sometimes Eric gets his way and lets everyone know. As great as the lyrics are, they’re dependent on the music beneath them to validate them, and in the case of Neon Creeps, it never disappoints. O Pioneers brand of punk sounds strangely more uplifting than it does abrasive. While in a way it could be argued that the point was always more about cathartic salvation than any kind of externally-focused confrontation, few bands have managed to make it all sound as personal and listenable as O Pioneers!" --Key parts paraphrased and stolen from the review written by: Marc Z.   PRETTY BOY THORSON AND THE SLOW DEATH / THE STRAIT A'S from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

It’s Minneapolis meets Minneapolis on this 6 song split 7” full of catchy pop punk. If you like “Ohhhs,” “Ahhhs,” and dueling male/female vocals then the 4 tracks of fast-paced Ramones style pop punk that THE STRAIT A’S bring to this split are going to be right up your alley. Complete with songs about brainless friends and revenge on an ex, this stuff is just pissed enough to avoid sounding too sugary. PRETTY BOY THORSON & THE SLOW DEATH brings a similar Lookout Records styled approach to their first of their tracks. It’s just as catchy but with a more deliberate pace and a gruffer vocal approach. They close out the record with a cover of “Ray of Sunshine” by short-lived Berkeley based band GO SAILOR.

RIDGEMONTColder Days from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

In less than 2 short years, Allston, Massachusetts' Ridgemont have managed to release a demo, a limited edition tour cassette and record their debut full-length the "Colder Days" LP. The album boasts a whopping 14 songs of music inspired by early Propaghandi, Dillinger Four, Latterman (and it even shows a trace of their love for Thin Lizzy). If you buy this record expecting rapid-fire vocals, noodling guitars and sweaty sing-alongs, you definitely won't be disappointed.

  SENDERSLucidity/Lividity from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Pioneering the "stoner-emo" genre, Gainesville's Senders have crafted a dense yet melodic debut album described by many as a more aggressive take on the heavy and cerebral sound of 90's space-rock luminaries Hum and Smashing Pumpkins. Through a wall of fuzz and distortion they wade, delivering eleven tracks of massive riffs and ethereal vocals that ponder the relationship between reality and dream theory. At times melancholy and at others triumphant, "Lucidity/Lividity" has drawn comparisons to the works of Helmet, Torche, and the more straight-forward side of Cursive. Turn up, tune down, drop out.

  SENDERSRecovery from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

The second outing for Gainesville's SENDERS, a classic 45rpm single of two new songs tracked in March 2010. Having built their sound by aping bands like HUM and BRAID, they now deliver new old ideas ripped straight from the FRODUS and APPLESEED CAST playbooks. Octaves and twinkly guitars noodle about between lush dirges and rolling cascades. Friends have also suggested some Gish-era SMASHING PUMPKINS influence, while legendary music critic Chad Darby put down the pipe long enough to note the band's "impressive use of uniquely driving guitars." SENDERS may or may not be trying to pioneer the "stoner-emo" genre, but they definitely did just blow up their van. RIP The Green Dragon. Maximum Rock-n-Roll said this record is "pretty rocking."

SERIOUS GENIUSESYou Can Steal the Riffs, But You Can't Steal the Talent from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

The Serious Geniuses have been an active band for two years as they release their debut LP. The result is a carefully crafted album that waivers the line of partial dissonance and captivating harmony. Take the better parts of Superchunk and Archers of Loaf, mix them up with anticipation for the next song and a bit of Boston punk attitude and this record flies by from first song to the last. "The usual kind of mid-'90s bullshit" - guitarist Nip Phinizy

SERIOUS GENIUSES / JEAN CLAUDE JAM BAND from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

"THE SERIOUS GENIUSES sound a ton like the mid-to-late 90's power-post punk with a heavy nod in the direction of "Icky Mettle" era Archers of Loaf if they were fronted by a Tim Kinsella that didn't spend his adolescent and high school years constantly getting wedgies and swirlies from neighborhood street toughs. There's a languid pace with the fantastic noodly guitar licks bands like the aforementioned AoL, Pavement, Ben Lee and others set forth, with the good, crunchy bits of "Bivouac"-era Jawbreaker tossed in for good measure." -Pocket Full Of Chump Change JEAN CLAUDE JAM BAND serves up two tracks of perfect punky power-pop. Barker from Witches with Dicks, and the Ringers hand-wrote and delivered these fine tunes with friends backing him. These 2 songs may be some of the best gritty power-pop punk in ages. Think old, old school Superchunk.

Gruff? Yes! Melodic? Yes! Punk? YES!!! Yet, another phenomenal record from the overflowing punk talent pool called Gainesville, Florida. Featuring members of YOUNG LIVERS, don't be tricked by the preconceived notion of what you think of this band formerly known as THE HORROR sound like. This record delivers anthemic (dare I say) street punk with tinges of melodic pop punk. Lyrically tackling social and political issues, the songs are still loaded with sing along choruses and whoa-ohhhs galore. Overall, the record brings the energy and intensity of STRIKE ANYWHERE, AVAIL, and RANCID. This will be the soundtrack to your next road trip, cruising with the windows down and bobbing your head along on your next adventure. With screenprinted LP covers & colored vinyl!

SLOW DEATH, THEBorn Ugly Got Worse from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Drawing on Cock Sparrer's working class anthems, the Lemonheads sometimes rollicking/sometimes somber vibe, and the East Bay pop punk fury of Crimpshrine, The Slow Death have carved out their own niche of melodic punk. Frontman Jesse Thorson and longtime collaborators Dave Strait and Johnny C recruited the help of drummer Mikey Erg and guest bass appearance by Dillinger Four's Paddy Costello to create the foundation for this monumental recording. If that does not sound like enough, they also enlisted The Soviette's Annie Sparrows, Dear Landlord's Zack Gontard and members of Pretty Boy Thorson & The Falling Angel's to put the sparkling touches on this killer record full of rowdy, gruff, 90's nostalgic pop punk. Simply amazing!

  SOVIETTESII from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Originally released in 2004 on Adeline Records, The Soviettes have remastered their classic LP II and Kiss of Death is proud to be re-releasing the vinyl for it. LP II is a blast of energetic, classic sounding (mostly) female fronted pop punk. There is a super authentic 80's vibe to this record with both the production and song writing calling to mind aspects of Blondie and the Go Go's. However, the band isn't always tearing at break neck speeds, they slow it down on a couple of more melancholy and rocking tracks like "Tonight" and "Whatever You Want." Absolutely Crucial Record!

STATIC RADIO NJWe Are All Beasts from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

With their newest album, "We Are All Beasts," Static Radio NJ have found a home at Florida's Kiss of Death Records and the album showcases the maturation of a band that has been playing together for nearly a decade. Originally started as a way to emulate and idolize the bands they grew up stage-diving to, Static Radio NJ have struck out on their own path and created their own sound. They are straightforward punk tunes but the hints of their beloved New Jersey predecessors and the sometimes outright Nirvana worship create a mixed and colorful bag of fresh material that isn't afraid to be a little bit different.

TIMESHARESBearable from Kiss Of Death/Kind Of Like Records

To portray Timeshares as anything more than four friends from downstate New York playing passionate, sincere punk-rock would be a waste of words. “We became friends through music,” says Mike Natoli, the band's bassist, “...Two years ago we started Timeshares together and it feels awesome.” So when these friends found themselves facing a couple of particularly "shitty years" as guitarist Jon Hernandez put it, they banded together to write and record their first full length Bearable. The band, which includes drummer Eric Bedell, guitarist and Jay Mosher, partnered with Kiss of Death Records and Kind of Like Records for a co-release on both vinyl and digital formats. With a blend of rock and punk reminiscent of that sweet spot from the 1990's, Bearable is sure to be loved by fans of early Get Up Kids, Hot Water Music and Avail alike.

Virgins hail from Orlando, FL and feature Sam of New Mexican Disaster Squad. This record is not a rehash of NMDS, but a whole new animal, reminiscent of 80's hardcore punk like ADOLESCENTS and THE STOOGES. Raw, snotty, and full of angst, this trio also adds a dose of southern fried dirt rockin' hooks and riffs that are guaranteed to have people singing along with the stereo blasting on ten. The record will either get you grounded or kicked out of your parents house as you mosh up your bedroom.

VRGNS (a.k.a VIRGINS)Manimals from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

This Orlando, FL based band's second full-length for Kiss of Death features bigger, louder production (while still retaining its charming "rough-around-the-edges" quality), more dynamic song writing and a vicious cynical voice. The record ebbs and flows with a distinct 70's and 80's punk sound. Sometimes bouncy, sometimes raging and always catchy, "Manimals" will lull you into a sugary submission before kicking your teeth into the back of your throat. While influenced by the likes of the Damned, Adolescents, and more old school favorites, this isn't a throwback record by any means. It's a progressive take on modern punk rock song writing that gives a curt nod of respect to the ones that paved the way, while still branching out into dangerous territory. "Manimals" is a record that pulls no punches lyrically and keeps the listener on their toes musically.

VULTURES UNITEDTo Live and Die in Gainesville from Kiss Of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Despite the fact that their first record as Vultures United wasn't released until 2008, the core of this band has been kicking out excellent hardcore jams in Orange County, California for close to a decade. With a couple of EPs already under their belt and their debut full-length "Savages" out on LP and CD from Red Scare Industries, the band found a new home for some unreleased material in Kiss of Death Records. Playing angst-ridden, no-frills hardcore punk, it's tough, but not in a jocky kind of way. Instead the band draws on old school influences to bring about a sound reminiscent of contemporary bands like the Nerve Agents, The Bronx and Fucked Up.

WHISKEY TRENCHTelevision from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Whiskey Trench's "Television" is a feisty mid-tempo punk album in the time-honored Naked Raygun / Jawbreaker tradition. This French Canadian foursome takes some interesting twists and turns on the new album that one might not expect. The track "Vicious Sore" features definite moments of Screeching Weasel-esque vocals and standout track "Lifelong Sentence" sounds as if it could have easily been a part of Social Distortions earlier punker records. Interspersed between the catchy raging anthems are a couple of excellent instrumental tracks that bring to mind early rockers The Kinks. Lyrically it is introspective, musically the foundation is built tight.

WITCHES WITH DICKSAmerican Railroads from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Take really gruff post-punk vocals and pair it with good and simple pop-punk arrangements and you get Witches With Dicks and deserve to have their records added to the collections of anybody into bands such as Screeching Weasel and Dillinger Four. American Railroads is the follow up to the band's first full-length Manual. It's certainly a suitable follow up and one that will leave any fan of their previous work happy. Their songs are short, hard and poppy enough to maintain any accessibility necessary to allow the listener to become hooked at first listen. They sing about breakups and singing about anarchy, stopping often for moments of reflection and self-criticism. Most bands are ready to blow up but this band will probably implode.

WITCHES WITH DICKSManual from Kiss of Death
Available in our NEW STORE!

Witches With Dicks sounds like a band named on a dare and they probably were. Nevertheless, they have a better chance of upping the ante for punk rock in 2007 then any of their cautiously named counterparts. The intelligent yet snotty anthems on their debut album, Manual, should silence any doubt. Loosely influenced by bands like Screeching Weasel, The Replacements, Jawbreaker, and The Lemonheads, they have scratched their own niche in the Boston punk scene with the help of other local bands/friends such as Ringers, Conversions, and Lock And Key.

Gainesville's finest tendons have parted and the blueberry rain falls like... uh... RAIN!! YOUNG LIVERS features folks from GLASS & ASHES, FIYA, and other musical brutarians and luminaries. So let's drop names like the verb farmers we all are: Glass and Ashes, Wipers, Hoover, Drive Like Jehu, Sleepytime Trio, beer and good times hanging out at the show with brothers and sisters in arms.
