RINGERS "Hurry Up & Wait" from 1-2-3-4-Go! BUY LP • $8.00 DOWNLOAD from iTunes Their third album. 7 songs clocking in at just under 20 minutes. It's like riding a trainwreck with a smile on your face, a drink in your hand and your heart on your sleeve. You're scared to death but still trying to have a good time. I honestly can't think of a better metaphor for the lyrical content of this album. It confronts the worst parts of life with out reveling in them and accepts the reality that it's not all bad times without being sappy and overly positive. Musically you're getting gritty pop punk with elements of everyone from The Clash, The Replacements, Rancid, and oft compared to contemporaries like Bent Outta Shape and Dillinger Four...although I honestly don't hear the last two, but I accept that other people do. Every album results in more complex song writing and delivery, and if they can keep the train on the tracks I think they'll be one of those bands that everyone else gets compared to in a few years. Real talk. Recorded by Will Killingsworth (Orchid/Ampere/Dead Air Studios). First press limited to 800 copies with hand stamped inner labels; includes download code! Download: "Canned Laughter" MP3 |

| AMPERE / RINGERS split "Abject Failure / Dialtones" from No Idea BUY 7" • $3.00 DOWNLOAD from iTunes The entire population of the Earth is reeling with the speed and efficiency that the first pressing of this record sold out! Forced by the sheer volume of outcry from the demanding throngs gathered outside the No Idea Industrial Compound, we have relented! Release of an ENTIRELY NEW SIZE record has occurred!! (Hey Hey! Ho Ho!) Anyhow, not to be called liars and shenanigan hoisters, we have deleted the once-popular 6" format in lieu of the SLIGHTLY LARGER 7" format. Along with the EXTRA INCH OF VINYL MAGIC, an entirely related form of sorcery offers us a 45 RPM spinning speed (technically superior to 33 RPM in some way)! Fresh from the combined high of conquering all that is wrong in the universe AND setting up another tour or two, Massachusetts' pride AMPERE and RINGERS have joined forces to spread the condiments one layer thicker! Yes! Two full layers! Your sandwich will never dry out again! Think of it! Revolution is at hand, and it be at 45rpm! Click here for more details! |

RINGERS "Curses" from 1-2-3-4-Go! BUY LP • $7.50 BUY CD • $7.00 DOWNLOAD from iTunes The first Ringers album, finally released on vinyl in a version available to more than a handful of people in New England! Comes in a snazzy LP jacket, with an insert this time too. This band picks up where Sirens left off. Most of the reviews imply that it sounds like Tim Armstrong writing songs for Dillinger Four. That's a description that would make me buy this if I hadn't put it out but honestly I don't think it's accurate. I am literally the only person in the world who thinks so. People sort of snoozed on this until the '06 fest when they finally got to see them and were stoked as all get out. |

RINGERS "Detention Halls" from 1-2-3-4-Go! BUY CD • $7.00 DOWNLOAD from iTunes Their 2nd full length! Well-written gritty pop punk for late night coffee shop romantics and anyone trying to figure what happened to their youth and where they're supposed to go from here. I think that just about covers everyone! This is also a band that gets "influences" right: influences are supposed to run in the background, providing some of the energy for what you're doing, not a playbook for your song writing. I hear hints of everything that made 90's East Bay pop punk great, a touch of '77, on occasion the drive of true post-hardcore and enough inspiration and originality to make it all into something different.
