GET BENT "Dead It" from It's Alive BUY 7" • $3.75 DOWNLOAD from iTunes Get Bent seem to draw their sound from a wide, varied pool of influences. So much so that it's hard to very clearly identify and pick out any of them, much less all of them. They certainly haven't reinvented the wheel, but maybe they've just crafted a sound so much their own that they are their own biggest influence. The three tracks that make up Dead It are the last Get Bent ever recorded. There's a pretty big and constantly growing scene in and around New York City, with a ton of bands making great music. GET BENT / JEAN CLAUDE JAM BAND from Kiss of Death BUY 7" • $3.50 GET BENT is members of POTBOILER and DOWN IN THE DUMPS. It perks up the ears form the first listen, with a nod to that mid- 90's sound. On this record is the best JEAN CLAUDE JAM BAND song to date (this is Barker Gee of RINGERS earlier band). I think JCJB called it a day with this amazing twangy southern fried punk, but who knows with Barker... maybe they will resurface again? The only thing one could wish for on this 7" is more music! (On assorted colored vinyl!) |
